How to Set Up Your Ledger Hardware Wallet

Welcome to your Ledger device setup guide. This educational demo will walk you through the process of setting up your hardware wallet to securely manage your cryptocurrency assets.

1 Unbox and Connect Your Device

Carefully unbox your Ledger device and connect it to your computer using the provided USB cable. Ensure you're using the original cable to prevent any connection issues.

2 Initialize Your Device

When you turn on your Ledger device for the first time, you'll be prompted to set up as a new device or restore from recovery phrase. Select "Set up as new device" for a fresh start.

3 Create Your PIN Code

Choose a PIN code between 4-8 digits. This PIN will be required every time you connect your device. Make sure it's something you'll remember but hard for others to guess.

4 Write Down Your Recovery Phrase

Your device will generate a 24-word recovery phrase. Write these words down in the exact order on your recovery sheet. This is the most critical security step!

Security Warning

Never share your recovery phrase with anyone. Store it in a secure location away from digital devices. Ledger will never ask for your recovery phrase.

5 Confirm Your Recovery Phrase

Your device will ask you to confirm several words from your recovery phrase to ensure you've written it down correctly.

6 Install Ledger Live

Download and install Ledger Live from the official Ledger website. This application will allow you to manage your crypto assets and install apps on your device.

Only download Ledger Live from the official Ledger website (ledger.com). Be cautious of third-party websites that may offer modified versions containing malware.

7 Install Crypto Asset Apps

Use Ledger Live to install apps for the cryptocurrencies you want to manage. Each crypto asset requires its own app on your Ledger device.

8 Create Accounts and Receive Crypto

Create accounts for your crypto assets in Ledger Live. You can then generate receiving addresses to transfer your cryptocurrencies to your secure hardware wallet.
